SmartResearch and the Mihajlo Pupin Institute have developed five prototype devices for mechanical ventilation to help the fight of coronavirus.
The operation of these devices is based on technological solutions that should be used in the future for the production of ventilators in Serbia, helping patients infected with the coronavirus.
The design of these devices is adapted to fasten the production technologies, such as 3D printers, CNC machines and laser cutters, and most of the components are manufactured in Serbia.
So far, five prototype devices have been produced, and after their validation by the competent state institutions, the production capacity of the Mihajlo Pupin Institute could be ten devices per day.
The team that developed the ventilator includes numerous electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and programmers, primarily from the Mihajlo Pupin Institute, as well as anesthesiologists and a molecular biologist.
