Belgrade played host to the inaugural conference of the Council of European Business Associations and Chambers of Commerce in Serbia (CEBAC) on 18th September, bringing together over 200 companies from 14 European organisations operating in the country.
The event, focused on the upcoming Expo 2027, highlighted the key opportunities for Serbia’s business landscape.
In her opening remarks, Sanja Ivanić, General Secretary of CEBAC, emphasised the organisation’s commitment to supporting its member companies and fostering connections with key stakeholders in the Serbian market. “This conference is a vital step in realising our goal of providing a platform for collaboration and business development,” she stated.
The conference featured presentations by Dušan Borovčanin, Director of Expo 2027, and Boris Bjelica, Director of Serbia’s Construction Directorate, who outlined the plans for the international event. Expo 2027 is set to attract over 100 global delegations, host around 8,000 parallel events, and welcome millions of visitors. The event, focused on innovation, infrastructure, and sustainable development, will provide an unparalleled opportunity for Serbian businesses to showcase their strengths and engage with international partners.
A notable moment in the conference was the formal inclusion of the Irish-Serbian Chamber of Commerce into CEBAC, bringing the total number of European business organisations under its umbrella to 14, representing over 2,000 companies operating in Serbia.
The event was supported by major companies such as Mega Concept, Sauter, Alumil, Alu Koenig Stahl, and others, demonstrating the strong backing for CEBAC’s efforts to enhance the legal, institutional, and competitive environment for businesses in Serbia. Since its formation in May 2024, CEBAC has remained committed to strengthening trade relations between European countries and Serbia, creating a more prosperous future for the business community.
