On 16 and 17 November Mr Enrique Mora, Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs / Political Director of the European External Action Service of the European Union visited Serbia.

During his visit, he co-chaired a meeting of the EU-Serbia informal Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) dialogue together with State Secretary of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nemanja Starovic.

He also discussed a number of aspects of EU-Serbia cooperation with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Mr Nebojsa Stefanovic, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Nikola Selakovic and foreign policy Adviser of the President Ms Tanja Jovic. In addition, Deputy Secretary-General Mora exchanged views with civil society representatives.

Deputy Secretary-General Mora welcomed the current level of EU-Serbia cooperation on Common Security and Defence Policy, including Serbia’s important contribution to EU missions and operations. He also underlined the need for Serbia to continue to improve its progressive alignment with the policies and positions adopted by the EU in the field of Common Foreign and Security Policy, in line with its framework for EU accession negotiations.
