Belgrade’s Delta Holding was the single biggest corporation in Serbia in 2017 with 55 dependent firms including 17 operating abroad, the Economic Registry Agency (APR) said on Thursday.

Second-ranked is the Matijevic meat industry in Novi Sad with 41 dependent companies including one abroad and third is the MK Group of Belgrade with 32 dependent companies including three operating abroad. 

According to APR data, there were 649 corporations operating in Serbia with almost 2,000 dependent companies, employing almost 300,000 people.

Their overall income stood at about 3,500 billion Dinars or 1.5 per cent more than in 2016 while expenses dropped by 1.6 per cent to 3,257 billion Dinars. Their net profits were 210 billion Dinars or 88.4 per cent more than a year earlier.
