Croatian state-owned energy utility HEP has on opened the first solar-powered electric-vehicle charging station in the country in the capital Zagreb.
The ultra-fast ELEN LEAF station has two shelters with solar panels and charging power of 50 KW and 43 KW DC AC, along with the ability to simultaneously charge two vehicles.
Although there is an increasing number of electric-vehicle charging stations in the country, the ELEN LEAF station in Zagreb is the first which is powered by solar energy.
The ELEN LEAF stations will annually produce 3,000 kWh of electricity from renewable sources.
HEP hopes by opening this station that cooperation with towns and interested partners will expand the network of public charging stations around Croatia.
