The Continental Automotive Serbia factory was opened in Novi Sad, which will employ more than 500 workers.
Representatives of Continental introduced the guests to the production programme, explaining that not only instrument panels and displays for cars will be made there, but also smart control systems.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday that his country would not have the economic success it has without Germany and that without its support it would not be able to increase its economic growth.
Vucic pointed out that the Development and Research Centre in Novi Sad is the third centre of the Continental in terms of the number of people, behind Germany and Romania, and already ahead of Austria and France.
The new factory of the company Continental is part of the business unit Human Machine Interface (HMI) whose focus is on products in the interior of the vehicle, and the value of the investment is €140 million.
The company has been operating in Novi Sad for a full three years within its research and development centre.
To date, this firm has employed more than 600 IT engineers, who are part of an international technology development team, numbering a total of 5,000 professionals.
