State Secretary of the Ministry of Health Mirsad Djerlek stated today that after Sremska Mitrovica and Krusevac, a plan of immunisation without prior registration is being made for other places in Serbia too, with the goal of reaching every individual in rural areas.
In a statement to the Tanjug agency, Djerlek said that there are many rural areas left uncovered.
Accordingly, he underlined that the intention is to improve the organisation in order to reach people who live in those areas and who have not had the opportunity to apply for vaccination through the eGovernment portal.
The villages are usually inhabited by old villagers, without young people. Our goal is to reach every house in Serbia and enable everyone to exercise their right to receiving a free and safe vaccine, the State Secretary explained.
He said that so far, approximately 1,115,000 citizens have received the first dose of the vaccine, while 633,000 have been revaccinated.
Our goal is to revaccinate two and a half to three million people in order to reach herd immunity together with natural infection, and so that we could calmly welcome the summer and get closer to the victory against COVID-19, the Secretary of State said.
