India celebrated the 75th anniversary of its independence on 15 August 2022. To celebrate and commemorate these 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements, India has launched India@75 initiative.

India@75 initiative is dedicated to the people of India who have not only been instrumental in bringing India thus far in its evolutionary journey, but also hold within them the power and potential to enable Prime Minister Modi’s vision of activating India 2.0, fuelled by the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-dependent India). The celebration is an embodiment of all that is progressive about India’s socio-
cultural, political and economic identity.

As part of India@75 celebrations in Serbia, Ambassador of India H.E. Mr. Sanjiv Kohli hoisted the national flag of India at an event held in the morning of 15 August 2022, at the Embassy’s premises.

In the evening, he hosted a reception which was attended by dignitaries and senior officials from the Government of Serbia, members of the diplomatic community, representatives of Serbian business, media and cultural organizations and members of the Indian diaspora in Serbia.

The highlight of the event was cultural performances that showcased the strong cultural affinity between the people of India and Serbia.
