BELhospice center for palliative care has received “Heroic Act of the Year” award by the Serbian Association of Managers (SAM) for the great contribution in improving the care for oncology patients.

For the past 12 years, Belhospice organization has been providing free palliative care for oncological patients in the terminal stages of illness, supported by donations from the biggest companies in Serbia.

One of the main goals of Belhospice organization is to build the first inpatient hospice in Serbia, a center that will accommodate oncological patients suffering from the symptoms untreatable in home care. This institution will significantly improve the quality of life of patients and their families alike and is expected to be open by the middle of 2017.

SAM Annual Award ceremony was attended by over 300 distinguished guests from the fields of business, policy, diplomacy, culture and media. Celebrating their 10th anniversary, SAM symbolically granted 10 annual awards in 10 categories, with the aim to promote exceptional business, social and humanitarian achievements in 2016.
