British American Tobacco (BAT), donated valuable computer equipment to the City of Vranje, which will be further redirected to those in need. Social responsibility is, and always has been, one of the main pillars of the company’s business operations, and BAT is continuously investing in equipment modernization and digital literacy education, as a precondition of future growth of the society, especially local community.
“We are extremely proud of the continuous investment of our company in technology modernization, not only inside the BAT system but also through donations to local communities and institutions in need. In today’s digitalization era we are aware of the importance to keep pace with new knowledge and trends, and this is exactly why we want to help and create opportunities for institutions and citizens in Serbia to work with the latest equipment. This practice will remain our company’s commitment in the future” – said BAT Vranje Factory Director, Mr Richard Vredenberg.
The donation to the City of Vranje is a continuation of activities in this field since the company donated valuable computer equipment last year to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. Over the past 15 years, British American Tobacco has been devoting great attention and resources to corporate social responsibility, in addition to the fact that since its arrival on the Serbian market, the company invested over one million euros in socially responsible projects. Acknowledgement of socially responsible business came through the numerous awards and recognition that the company received.
