As part of the traditional New Year’s project “Wrap a Gift, Make a Child Smile”, Banca Intesa employees have raised almost RSD 1,400,000 for the National Association of Parents of Children with Cancer (NURDOR).

By purchasing tickets for the New Year’s corporate event, some 1,500 employees of Banca Intesa from all across Serbia participated in this charity campaign. The employees had the opportunity to choose the organisation which will receive the monetary donation, and they have voted for the money to go to NURDOR this year, where it will be used for expanding the capacities of parents’ homes. This way, the employees have shown through their donations that the concepts of unity and giving for the general good are very important parts of a bank’s corporate culture.

“I would like to thank the employees of Banca Intesa, who have decided this year to support the children from all over Serbia who have cancer, and who are taken care of by NURDOR 365 days a year. It is invaluable for the family to have peace, safety and warmth of a home during the treatment period, which is what our parents’ homes will provide, and the funds raised in this campaign will be directed towards expanding the capacities of parents’ homes. None of what NURDOR is doing would be possible without our volunteers, as well as responsible individuals and companies which understand that supporting those who need it, and taking care of society in general, is the best investment in the future”, said Ljubiša Stanić, a father of a cured child and a board member at NURDOR.

Banca Intesa has launched the “Wrap a Gift, Make a Child Smile” project in 2010, as a joint initiative by the employees, and since then, residents of chosen institutions for social and medical treatment of children have received thousands of presents and RSD 2,600,000 of financial aid.
