An Air Serbia aeroplane carrying experts from the People’s Republic of China and the medical equipment necessary for the fight against coronavirus which this country sent to Serbia landed at 19.40 at Belgrade Nikola Tesla airport.

The aeroplane was welcomed at the airport by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Chinese Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Chen Bo.

The plane from China brought six of China’s most eminent epidemiologists, who came out on the runway wearing masks and were welcomed with several-minute applause by President Aleksandar Vucic and members of the Serbian government.

Vucic expressed gratitude to Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people for medical assistance that arrived in Serbia tonight.

After the arrival of the first plane from China, he underlined that all this is free-of-charge assistance and great support from China.

Chinese pilots displayed the Chinese and Serbian flags through the cockpit windows in response to the hosts’ welcome.

This is by far the largest shipment of medical aid for Serbia in the fight against coronavirus and it has been sent by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Medical packages sent from China have an inscription written in Chinese and in Cyrillic: “Steel friendship, we share good and bad,” with a heart whose one side has the flag of Serbia and the other the flag of China.

One more aeroplane of Air Serbia, Airbus А320, departed this morning at 6.15 to Shanghai for the second round of the medical assistance.
