The Winter Olympics 2018 in South Korea has finally come to an end with the closing ceremony concluding the games in Pyeongchang.
With the ceremony showcasing cutting-edge South Korean technology and a remarkable drone show that dotted out the image of the Games mascot Soohorang, a white tiger, in the night sky, athletes marched into the stadium, many wearing their medals.
”You have shown how sport brings people together in our fragile world; you have shown how sport builds bridges,“ Bach said.
”The IOC will continue this Olympic dialogue, even after we extinguish the Olympic flame,” said Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee.
Norway, the nation of only 5 million people, has delivered the greatest performance in the history of the Winter Games, winning a total of 38 medals, 13 of them gold.
