The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and UniCredit Banka of Serbia presented a programme entitled Women in Business at a press conference attended by Daniel Berg, director of the EBRD office in Serbia, Csilla Ihász, chairwoman of the executive board of UniCredit Banka Serbia and professor Branka Drašković, adviser to the government’s Vice-President for Gender Equality.

The aim of the programme is to improve access to finance and provide advisory services to female entrepreneurs. Under this programme the EBRD will make available a credit line of €5 million for loans to SMEs managed by women, covering the risk of first loss together with technical support.

UniCredit Banka will also further enable increased credit to such companies in Serbia. The companies will have increased access to finance, lower prices, lower collateral requirements and technical support provided by EBRD’s programme for advice to SMEs.
