A business delegation comprising 16 Japanese companies – operating in the sectors of IT, trade, transport, food production and the automotive, machine and construction industries – accompanied Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe on his visit to Belgrade, as part of the official delegation.

The delegation included representatives of Japanese companies that already operate in Serbia, as well as companies interested in discovering more about the business environment in Serbia.

The Embassy of Japan, the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Serbia, the Development Agency of Serbia and the Japan Business Alliance in Serbia co-organised a special business event for the delegation, aimed at informing Japanese companies about business opportunities in Serbia, as well enabling direct contact with members of the JBAS and Serbian companies operating in the field of IT and the food industry.

JBAS president Goran Pekez also presented Japanese companies with the activities of the JBAS and other members of the Japanese business community in Serbia.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for the visiting Japanese companies to familiarise themselves with the potential for doing business in Serbia, acquaint themselves with the existing Japanese business community in the country, gathered within the JBAS, and target potential areas for future cooperation with Serbian companies.
