Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić and the Norwegian Ambassador to Serbia Arne Sannes Bjørnstad visited the renovated Obrenovac Sports & Culture Centre, which was heavily damaged during the floods of May 2014.
PM Aleksandar Vučić thanked the Norwegian Ambassador, explaining that Norway donated €2.3 million to Obrenovac alone. The reconstruction started in November last year, with the small and large theatre halls, sports hall, gallery and library all being renovated.
The reconstruction project was implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), with the Kingdom of Norway setting aside €1.5 million for interior reconstruction.
The Prime Minister and Ambassador Bjørnstad also visited a photo exhibition showing the images of the centre before and after the flooding, as well as the reconstruction stages.
