Culture and Information Minister Ivan Tasovac has officially opened the restored Manak’s House, which showcases the Hristifor Crnilović Ethnographic Memorial Collection and the exhibition, “Language as Cultural Record”.
Manak’s House is one of the oldest repositories of ancient Balkan culture in Serbia, dating back to the first half of the 19th century. Manak’s House has been completely restored and renovated and now has a new courtyard. After almost five decades of conservation effort, the House will soon be open to the public.
Manak’s House, which has been a part of the Belgrade Ethnographic Music since opening in 1968, houses the biggest ethnographic memorial collection in Serbia.
The House’s official opening also marks the beginning of the Serbian Museums, “10 Days From 10 to 10” event.
