On June 24, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea hosted a concert titled “Korean Musical Kaleidoscope” at Madlenianum Opera & Theatre in Belgrade.

The event, blending traditional and contemporary Korean music, drew a full house of around 450 attendees. Organized in cooperation with The Society for East‑West Music under President Lee Bok‑Nam and ArtLink Festival led by the pianist Jovanka Jankovic, the concert served as a meaningful cultural diplomacy initiative, showcasing the depth and vibrancy of Korean music to a Serbian audience. Traditional Korean music, including pansori and gayageum sanjo, was introduced and received an enthusiastic response from the Serbian audience.

In particular, top-tier Serbian musicians—pianists Jovanka Janković and Marija Đukić, cellist Kristóf Jan, flutist Nataša Ličanin, and violist Ivana Erčić—joined Korean performers on stage, creating powerful moments of connection that transcended language and culture through music.

The collaboration between artists from both countries, including heartfelt Korean-language performances by Serbian baritone Milutin Jotić and soprano Milica Čičić, added deeper meaning to the concert. In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Hyung Tae KIM stated that “the two nations have cultivated a close and vibrant partnership, between on mutual respect, shared values and deepening cultural ties,” adding, “it is my sincere hope that the harmony from the event becomes a lasting symbol of the enduring friendship between Korea and Serbia.”
