Renowned Serbian actress Tanja Bošković received the Golden Seal, the highest honour awarded by the Yugoslav Film Archive for outstanding contributions to cinema, at a ceremony held on 9 June in the Makavejev Hall. The event also featured a screening of Košava (1974), the film that marked her first leading role.
The award was presented by Archive Director Jugoslav Pantelić, who praised Bošković’s remarkable career across film, theatre and television, highlighting her authenticity and ability to transcend genres. A video montage of her film roles was also shown.

Bošković, visibly moved and cheered by colleagues, friends, and family, said she felt like “the happiest woman in the world.” She thanked both former and current Archive directors and credited her classmates and mentors from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts for shaping her journey.

Reflecting on her career, she called herself a guest in the world of film, adding that she poured her heart into Balkan Express and learned immensely while filming Košava alongside Bekim Fehmiu.

Cinematographer Milorad Jakšić Fanđo, who shot Košava, congratulated Bošković, recalling he had filmed many greats’ early roles. He said Bošković’s success was owed to her “rich talent, dedication, and divine beauty.”

The event marked part of the Archive’s 76th anniversary celebration, which also includes the 27th Nitrat Film Festival running until 17 June.
