The ninth annual conference on the Internet in Serbia – DIDS 2018, under the slogan “Internet Identity Guardians”, was organised by the foundation Serbian National Internet Domain Registry (RNIDS) and marked the first decade of using the .RS domain.

Around 450 visitors and over 2,000 online stream viewers followed lectures and panel discussions with 16 foreign and domestic experts on current topics in the digital sphere, such as personal data protection in the light of the GDPR, the role of digitalisation in preserving the heritage and the importance of online presence for the business.

The conference marked the 10th birthday of the .RS domain. According to Tatjana Matić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, the domain has branded Serbia on the world network. “Both RNIDS and the Republic of Serbia have understood at the right time the importance of owning a national domain and expanding the use of the Internet”, she said.
