Outgoing British Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Denis Keefe welcomed guests to mark the 93rd birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Celebration of The Queen’s 93rd Birthday was organised in the spirit of the 80s, a period of rich cultural, sports, scientific and many other ties between Great Britain and Yugoslavia.

At the event held at the ambassadorial residence Elsie Inglis House, H.E. Keefe used the opportunity to wish Serbia enough energy and courage to develop the economy, society, political system needed for entering the European Union. 

He pointed out the importance of furthering the cooperation with all who contributed to the deepening of relations between Serbia and the United Kingdom.

Queen Elizabeth II was born on 21 April, but the central official celebration of her birthday is organised on the first, second or third Saturday in June.

This year, the central celebration of The Queen’s Birthday, traditional Trooping of the Color, was held on 8 June in London.
