Belgian National Day Commemorated

Belgium celebrates 21st July as its national holiday, in commemoration of the date of 21st July 1831, which is considered the date of the creation of Belgium as an independent country. It was then that Leopold of Saxe-Coburg swore his oath of allegiance to the new Belgian Constitution and became Belgian King Leopold I.

The reception was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps in Serbia and numerous figures from the public, political and cultural life of Belgrade and Serbia.
