The Nordic ambassadors to Serbia organised a reception at the Norwegian residence to celebrate Nordic Day.
This event, which commemorates the signing of the Helsinki Treaty on 23 March 1962 by all the Nordic countries is dedicated to the regional cooperation of governments and parliaments in the north of Europe, one of the oldest and most comprehensive in the world.
The Nordic region is home to 27 million people, covers eight time zones and has a strong language community – 80-90% of Danish, Swedish and Norwegian words are identical or sound similar.
Equality, welfare and democracy are common Nordic values that open the way to closer inter-Nordic cooperation at all levels – from the Prime Minister to the primary school pupil.
