The Europe House will be a place of meeting, learning, debating, film projections, books or music, a place of cultural exchange in the center of the capital of Serbia, stated the speakers at the opening.

Emanuele Giofre, Ambassador of the European Union to Serbia

“The Europe House is our meeting place for people, ideas and cultures, all under one European roof. A place that belongs to all of us, where we can celebrate our similarities and differences, in a spirit of mutual respect and open-mindedness. Thank you all for coming today, all our partners from civil society, from the Government, from the business sector, from public administration, from culture are here. This is exactly the purpose of Europe House that we are opening today,” said the Ambassador of the European Union to Serbia, Emanuele Giaufret.

Tanja Miščević, Minister for European Integration

“It is my pleasure to be here on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Serbia to mark the opening of the Europe House. We are working together to achieve the goals and standards of the European Union, sometimes with less and sometimes with more success, but really with one goal, to one day be under under the same roof with the 27 member states of the European Union. There is still a long way ahead of us, and that is why Europe House will actually be a place for our meetings, our studies, communication about the benefits of European integration, but also a place where we will learn new skills,” said Minister Tanja Miščević.

The ceremonial opening was accompanied by an artistic work – a painted model of a house that symbolises togetherness, in which six artists from Serbia and the EU participated – Max Freunde (Austria), Julija Dašić (France), Radovan Kunić (Croatia), Amanda Helsten (Sweden), Slavko Krunić (Serbia) and Sonja Lundin (Serbia/Sweden) with a special musical background by a composer originally from Ukraine and Serbia (Sveti Tkalac Grbić). The exhibition of their works in Europe House will last until 11 September.

The Europe House is dedicated to strengthening ties between Serbia and the European Union. Through various activities and programmes, we promote mutual understanding, share common values and strengthen cooperation, actively supporting the EU integration process of Serbia.

The vision of the existence of Europe House is to be a place where the citizens of Serbia jointly and actively participate in building the country’s European future. A space where we encourage open dialogue and exchange of ideas and strengthen cooperation between Serbia and the European Union, creating space for a society that shares common values and goals.

The Europe House is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of European values. We believe in the power of cooperation, the importance of mutual respect and dialogue, and the role of education as a key tool for building a prosperous society. Our programs and activities strive to create an inclusive environment in which every idea is valued, and every citizen has the opportunity to contribute to the European future of Serbia.
