The business dialogue event organised by the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia (AmCham) saw Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić and AmCham members conclude that the continuation of cooperation between the government and the private sector is key to the conducting of priority reforms.
“The key steps towards increasing our competitiveness are comprehensive digitisation and the reform of education, without which we will not be able to achieve long-term sustainable development,” said PM Ana Brnabić.
“A large number of laws are adopted under the urgent procedure and without public debate, and it is very important for the Government to ensure obligatory and broad public debate for all interested parties. According to the Prime Minister, this problem will finally be consigned to the past,” said AmCham Management Board Chairman Mr Zoran Petrović.
“We can be optimistic when it comes to improving the business environment, but at the same time take note of the challenges confronting businesses – unfair competition, parafiscal charges and legal uncertainty,” said U.S. Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Kyle Scott.
Executive Director Of AmCham Ms Vera Nikolić Dimić said: “I am pleased to point out that the most prominent representatives of the Serbian economy are here today”.
