Prime Minister Ana Brnabić said that net exports of ICT services from Serbia in the first three months of this year increased by as much as 31.6% compared to the same period of 2018, indicating that it will exceed by far the last year’s €1.13 billion.
Speaking at a conference dedicated to innovations and digital technologies in Fin Tech 4 Business, Brnabić pointed out that 2018 was the first year when the export of ICT services from Serbia exceeded €1 billion and noted that this sector records an incredible yearly growth.
She said that the growth of the ICT sector in 2017 was 21.6%, in 2018 it was 26.2%, and in the first three months of this year even more, and stated that the export of ICT services today is by far the largest net export branch of Serbia, bigger than agriculture, automobile and mechanical industry.
I do not know of any other sector of our economy that records annual growth rates this fast, the Prime Minister said.
Brnabić said that digitisation of all segments of the economy, state and society is the best tool for strong economic growth in this and in the coming years.
The Prime Minister expressed her satisfaction with the fact that public finances are stable and that for the fourth year in a row Serbia has a surplus in the budget.
