The Museum of the City of Belgrade, supported by the Embassy of Romania, has presented an author’s project of artist Predrag Popara entitled The Burning Island, which is a result of cooperation between institutions, galleries, artists and curators. The exhibition was opened by Romanian prince Şerban Dimitrie Sturdza.
This solo exhibition was conceived as intercultural dialogue and multimedia event. Alongside his most recent creations from 2016/17, Predrag Popara also presented works of his colleagues from Romania and Italy.
Guests artists Dan Maciuca (Romania), Rudy Cremonini (Italy), Bogdan Vladuta (Romania) and Petrica Stefan (Romania) are all contemporary artists of the younger generation who live and work in one of the most interesting countries in the region, recognised as an incubator of artists’ creativity that is increasingly visible on the artistic map of Europe and the world.
