The American Chamber of Commerce – AmCham elected new members of the Managing Board of Directors and presented the award for excellence to geneticist Miodrag Stojković
The General Assembly of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) presented Chamber’s 2018 results.
AmCham members voted Biljana Bujić (KPMG) as Secretary-Treasurer and Dragan Lupšić (Coca-Cola HBC Serbia) for the two-year mandate on the Board of Directors.
At the AmCham General Assembly held at the National Museum in Belgrade, the annual AmCham Hero Award was presented to Miodrag Stojković, the world-renowned geneticist and the only Serbian scientist with the H60 index – which is traditionally awarded to unique, globally recognised scientists.
“Since AmCham’s foundation, our community has been a constructive and active partner to the state – we are launching initiatives, we show the opportunities and make recommendations for improving the business environment and empowering the private sector in Serbia. In the coming period, we will continue to provide unwavering support to institutions, and above all strengthening the expertise and efficiency of public administration and judiciary, so that the adopted regulations are adopted are high-quality, suitable for the market economy and implemented equally with everyone,” said the President of the AmCham Board Jelena Pavlović.
“AmCham as the leading business association and will continue to be focused on implementing reforms with the Government of Serbia as a partner,” said AmCham Executive Director Vera Nikolic Dimić and stressed that “AmCham members remain committed to fostering institutional development and improving the business environment in Serbia.”
AmCham Hero Award
This year’s AmCham Hero Jury made up of a representative of the AmCham Steering Committee, awarded Miodrag Stojković, a genetic scientist who became world famous when his first cloned embryo was released from the laboratory for human, medical purposes.
