The Belgrade Museum of African Art hosted this year’s Afro festival, the most important annual event which this institution organises in cooperation with the embassies of African countries.
From 3rd to 5th June, the garden of the Museum of African Art in the Senjak area hosted gatherings of numerous artists, experts in the field of African Studies, as well as lovers and connoisseurs of the culture and arts of the African continent.
“For almost four full decades this unique institution has provided a significant contribution to the promotion and fostering of cultural relations and promoting the principles of multiculturalism and cultural diversity, representing Belgrade in the best possible light,” said Dr Marija Aleksić, Director of the Museum of African Art.
On behalf of the Group of African Ambassadors in Serbia, visitors were addressed by H.E. Libyan Ambassador Tajouri Sh. Tajouri, who highlighted the many decades of Serbian-African friendship and gave a particular mention to the importance of the Museum in continuously improving that friendship.
