H.E. U.S. Ambassador to Belgrade Kyle Scott hosted a reception to mark the occasion of U.S. Independence Day, 4th July, at which he wished everyone “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”.

Ambassador Scott explained that Americans are marking the 240th anniversary of the declaration of “a new nation dedicated to the universal right to human dignity, political engagement and economic progress”.

Independence Day “celebrations that bring them closer together”, like today’s ceremonial reception at the residence with friends from Serbia, with which, he noted, Americans share the same goals that are woven into the Declaration of independence,” said H.E. Kyle Scott.

The reception was attended by Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić, President Tomislav Nikolić, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojković, government ministers and representatives of religious communities, as well as former government officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps, figures from cultural and public life and numerous other guests.
