Ambassador of Qatar in Serbia, H.E. Sheikh Mubarak Bin Fahad Al Thani, hosted a reception at the Hyatt Hotel on the occasion of the Statehood Day of Qatar.

This day is celebrated on December 18, when on that date in 1878, Sheikh Yashim bin Mohamed Al-Thani led the state towards unity.

The ambassador emphasised that Serbia and Qatar established friendly relations, adding that Qatar devotes special attention to strengthening bilateral co-operation with Serbia. He also stressed that Qatar welcomes the efforts of the Government of Serbia in achieving progress, economic development and ensuring a stability for its people, as well as in strengthening the credibility of Serbia in the international community.
