At the end of November, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea donated two instruments (a CHNS-O analyser and a TOC and DOC analyser), worth EUR 114,000, to the Institute of Forestry. These instruments will be used to monitor environmental pollution in forests and forest ecosystems across Serbia and support various scientific research projects.
This donation marks the second consecutive contribution from the Embassy. Last year, the Embassy provided an ICP spectrometer worth $140,000, significantly enhancing the Institute’s capacity to perform chemical analyses and monitor pollution levels nationwide.
The donation ceremony was attended by Mr. Jung Woo Lee, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Dr. Marina Soković, Assistant Minister at the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovations, and Dr. Ljubinko Rakonjac, Director of the Institute of Forestry.
This continued support highlights the Embassy’s commitment to fostering collaboration in scientific and environmental initiatives in Serbia.
