Ambassador of Egypt to Serbia Amr Aljowaily expressed heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of Christmas to be celebrated on December 25th around the world and January 7th in Egypt and Serbia.

He highlighted that the Embassy of Egypt organized on this occasion a pioneer cultural evening titled “Cultural Heritage of Egypt: Churches and Monasteries” Photos, Booklet, and Documentary at the Crypt of the Temple of Saint Sava. “It is a unique opportunity in a unique location to show case an exhibition of photographs illustrating Egyptian churches as masterpieces of architecture, a documentary film on the oldest monastery in the world “Saint Antonius” in the Red Sea Governorate, as well as launching the digital edition of the booklet “Journey of the Holy Family to Egypt” in Serbian”, said Aljowaily.

The event, which gathered dignitaries from the Serbian Orthodox Church, Directorate for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities, Belgrade Archdiocese, high representatives of the members of the Government of Serbia, ambassadors and senior diplomatic corps, media representatives and representatives of the cultural and business spheres in Serbia.

The audience interacted warmly with the rich manifestations of the cultural heritage of one of the rich eras of Egyptian history.

Ambassador of Egypt Amr Aljowaily invited to audience and the Serbian citizens visiting Egypt to include in their visits to the Red Sea also the monasteries and churches highlighted in the evening in a blend of cultural and leisure tourism in Egypt. “The documentary, the photo exhibition and the booklet were prepared by the Egyptian Ministries of Antiquities, Culture and Tourism respectively, reflecting a multidisciplinary interdepartmental effort”, added Aljowaily.

The digital version of the Serbian edition of the booklet “Journey of the Holy Family to Egypt”, which caused great interest for visitors is now available at the social media outlets of the Embassy @EgyptInSerbia.
