Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala opened the Czech House in Belgrade during an official visit to Serbia, highlighting that Czech centers are special places for fostering cooperation and building friendly connections.
According to him, centers like this offer the Czech Republic an opportunity to showcase its transformation and development into a country that is continuously progressing.
“This house, which has witnessed much throughout history, will once again become a place for developing the friendship between our two countries,” Fiala stated.
Speaking at the economic forum in Belgrade as part of a Czech state-business delegation’s visit to Serbia, Prime Minister Fiala noted that he sees Serbia as a country that has managed to achieve economic growth despite challenging times:
“Czech companies are ready to expand their operations in Serbia, primarily in the defense and IT industries. We are increasingly active here as investors.”
He emphasized that trade exchange between the two countries is constantly growing and that the Czech Republic is among Serbia’s top 10 most important economic partners.
During Fiala’s visit, Serbia and the Czech Republic signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Serbian Ministry of Economy and the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade.
President Aleksandar Vučić, speaking at a press conference, noted that the two countries have exceptionally good relations and that there is a strong closeness between the Serbian and Czech peoples.
