The relationship between Czechia and Serbia is strong and friendly, with Czechia ranking among Serbia’s top 10 foreign trade partners and being one of its key investors, stated Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský during his visit to Belgrade.
He congratulated Serbia on its recent credit rating upgrade and noted that mutual trade reached over two billion euros last year, which he praised as excellent economic news. Lipavský expressed optimism that these numbers could improve in the coming years, citing the significant potential for expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.

Discussing areas for enhancing cooperation, he emphasized opportunities in transportation, environmental protection, tourism, and other sectors of mutual interest. Additionally, during his meeting with Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić, EU enlargement was a key topic.
Lipavský reaffirmed Czechia’s support for Serbia in advancing its EU accession process, while highlighting the importance of legal harmonization and the ongoing dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina to ensure stability and security in the region.
