On the occasion of the 56th anniversary of the independence of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, H.E. Abdelhamid Chebchoub hosted a reception at the Ambassador’s Residence.

Addressing the guests, Ambassador Chebchoub said that 5th July 1962 marks the historic day, the end of the long shadow of colonialism that had hung over Algeria for 132 years. This day is celebrated as Independence Day, in remembrance of Algerian independence from France in 1962.
