The new GLA, as the eighth model, completes the current generation of Mercedes-Benz compact vehicles. The EQA electric model will be due before the end of this year. The prototype of this model is currently travelling on snow-covered roads in Sweden. This winter testing is used by engineers to examine with extreme care the thermal characteristics and recharge of the battery in extreme conditions. Further aspects are driving safety, traction and energy recovery on snow and ice.

At the same time, Mercedes-Benz is expanding its line of plug-in hybrids under the EQ Power brand – it will introduce additional models with a third-generation hybrid powertrain at the Geneva Motor Show. With the new EQ Power compact vehicles, (electric) driving pleasure and convenience for everyday use are at the forefront.

Transparency for e-mobility

One key aspect of Daimler AG’s sustainable business strategy is electric mobility. With its “Ambition 2039” initiative, Mercedes-Benz is working to be able to offer a CO2-neutral new fleet of vehicles for 19 years. One important aspect of sustainable mobility is transparency. This is why Mercedes-Benz AG is the first premium automaker to be scientifically verified by the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTI). This means that the company complies with the requirements of the Paris World Climate Agreement.
