Mr Sci. Dr Nemanja Popović, owner and director, Dr Popović Dental Clinic

Patients Are Looking For Safety And Quality

With a tradition of more than 35 years, Dr Popović Dental Practice  is the only one in Serbia with Temos accreditation and a recommendation from the Diplomatic Council, and since last year it has ISO 9001:2015 certification. They are fully dedicated to each patient, from first contact, through the entire course of treatment until recovery

Dr Nemanja Popović reveals to CorD magazine why he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps. He proudly points out that patients from Serbia, the surrounding region and the whole world return to them again and again and that it is understood that they continuously improve and introduce new technologies, materials and techniques.

In founding Dr Popović Dental Practice over 35 years ago, Dr Dragoslav Popović built a family practice that cares for patients of all ages. Was it natural for you to follow in your father’s footsteps? What was your professional path like?

Since the first practice was part of our family home I had the opportunity to watch my father’s work from a young age, and this inspired me to follow in his footsteps.

Long before my studies, I decided that surgery was my specialty, so specialization in oral surgery and implantology was a logical path for me. Immediately after graduating from university, I enrolled in master’s studies in that subject, to make the most of the time until I was able to start specialist studies. So I spent almost nine years at the Clinic for Oral Surgery, which was a uniquely formative experience in this area of dentistry that for me is the most interesting.

You are the only one in Serbia to have Temos accreditation, which is accompanied by a recommendation from the Diplomatic Council, and since last year you also have ISO 9001:2015 certification. What does that say about your dental practice?

We consider the successful accreditation of our office by an international accreditation body as one of our greatest successes, and evidence that the standard of the services we provide have been brought to the highest level of business in this branch of healthcare. This is also one of the items that differentiates us from our competitors.

Temos accreditation and the recommendation of the Diplomatic Council are definitive confirmation that our specialist dental practice offers patients the highest quality services and is fully committed to their satisfaction, from the first contact, through the entire course of treatment and the recovery process.

We prioritize the safety of our patients and respect for ethical standards, which are very important in medical practice

In addition to patients from Serbia and surrounding countries, patients from all over the world come to our surgery, so over the years we have tried to understand all the cultural differences in expectations. Besides the safety of the services we provide, patients’ satisfaction and our good relations and communication with them is at the top of our list of priorities.

In the provision of healthcare services, the concept of ‘one rule for all’ should not apply, but we must be sensitive and adapt our approach to patients from different cultural backgrounds.

These recognitions are also an indication that we prioritize the safety of our patients and adhere to ethical standards that are very important in medical practice. In this way, we cultivate good relations with our patients over the years and they return again and again, but on the other hand we also gain the trust of new patients.

Your satisfied patients from Serbia and from all over the world know that at Dr Popović there are the finest experts awaiting them with top-notch services. Are training and continuous education priorities for you?

To consistently provide high quality services, continuous education is something that goes without saying. We try to attend important world congresses and education to improve our services and raise their quality to an even higher level.

All areas of dentistry, especially implantology, are developing rapidly and continuously, so education is the way to keep up with world experts and include all new ideas and innovations in what we offer, in the field of operating technologies, materials and working techniques. New education is thus an opportunity for our team to progress and is always one of the priorities at our practice.

Temos accreditation and the recommendation of the Diplomatic Council are definitive confirmation that our specialist dental practice offers patients the highest quality of service

You find it extremely important that your services are of the highest quality, as painless as possible and as quick as possible. That’s why you use the most modern and advanced technology, procedures, materials. Can you tell us of any innovations?

The policy of our practice is that services are provided by specialists from specific areas of dentistry, such as oral surgery and prosthetics, orthodontics, periodontology, children’s dentistry or others. In addition to the continuous education of all our staff, with both local and foreign courses and symposiums, we try to keep up with the development of materials and technology in all fields of dental services. One of the benefits we offer in cooperation with fellow anaesthetists is intervention in intravenous sedation, which maximizes the comfort of extremely anxious patients. Also, by digitalizing certain procedures, we accelerate and facilitate the therapy period for each patient.
