Serbia and Romania have announced plans to construct a gas interconnection by 2026, enhancing energy cooperation and supply security between the two nations.
The upcoming signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, as revealed by Serbia’s Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović Handanović, and Romanian Ambassador Silvia Davidoiu, underscores this commitment.
The project, which includes a 12.8-kilometer section stretching from Mokrin to the Romanian border, is valued at €12 million and aims to diversify gas supplies and bolster consumer security. This initiative reflects the deepening trade and energy relations over the past decade, supported by European Union funding and the strategic partnership between Serbia and Romania.
