Presentation on “Business Opportunities for Belgian Companies in Serbia” jointly organised by the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS), Economic and Trade Office – Embassy of Belgium, Belgian-Serbian Business Association and The Embassy of Belgium in Serbia was held in Belgrade.
The aim of the event, that gathered around 60 representatives of Belgian and Serbian companies, was to provide information about subsidies and support programs for the Belgian companies that are doing business in Serbia as well as to Belgian companies interested in setting up or expanding their presence in Serbia.
At the beginning of the event H.E. Koenraad Adam, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium and acting director of Development Agency of Serbia (RAS) Mr Radoš Gazdić gave welcome speeches.
Ambassador of Belgium Koenraad Adam stated that he supports this kind of initiative and events, as well as the efforts to connect and provide relevant information for the companies that are interested in doing business in Serbia. Moreover, he emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries, in every segment, especially the business one, and those good relations between countries will always have the support of the Embassy of Belgium.
Director of RAS, Radoš Gazdić, mentioned that RAS offers, not only support by subsidies but that companies can rely on consultancy and expert help, from the first phase of the project, following all the phases of the project, until the project is completed. In that manner, he mentioned the Belgian company “Metech”, Smederevo, as an example of good practice when it comes to both RAS support and support given by the municipalities. In addition to that, a good practice is supported by the fact that in the last year Serbia had over 3 billion Euros foreign investment flow.
The RAS advisors held a presentation on business opportunities for Belgian companies in Serbia and subsidies and support program RAS offers. After that Aleksandar Jovanović from the Belgian company “Metech” situated in the City of Smederevo, presented their experience in implementing investment project in Serbia, as one of the examples of best practice.
Also, director of the Office for local economic development and projects of the City of Niš, Milan Randjelović, talked about the support program that the city gives and about the experiences this municipality has with foreign investment projects.
The presentations were followed by individual meetings and conversations between representatives of the companies and RAS advisors and a cocktail for all the attendees.
