The governments of North Macedonia and Serbia have signed a memorandum for the joint construction of a 70-kilometer gas pipeline, with an annual capacity of around 14 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
The agreement was formalized following a meeting between the prime ministers of both countries, Miloš Vučević of Serbia and Hristijan Mickoski of North Macedonia, in Skopje. This memorandum marks the beginning of the construction of a new interconnector, enhancing regional energy infrastructure.

Prime Minister Mickoski emphasized that both Serbia and North Macedonia share a vision for the future of the region within the European Union, and through joint efforts, they aim to meet the EU membership criteria and bring economic benefits to their citizens.
He also highlighted that regional cooperation remains a top priority for both countries, while addressing the challenges facing the Western Balkans.
