In a strategic move to enhance logistics operations in the Western Balkans, Transfera, a leading logistics company in the region, has partnered with Rail Cargo Group, the freight arm of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), to establish a new joint venture in Belgrade. The agreement was signed at the Austrian Embassy, emphasizing the venture’s potential to transform intermodal transport across the region.
Austrian Ambassador H.E. Christian Ebner praised the initiative, noting its significance for regional development and the strengthening of Serbia-Austria bilateral relations. Duško Radović, CEO of Transfera, expressed satisfaction with the partnership, anticipating that it will introduce new standards to the logistics industry by optimizing intermodal transport solutions.
Christoph Grasl from Rail Cargo Group highlighted the synergy between the two companies, stating that the new venture would provide sustainable logistics solutions that encourage the shift from road to rail transport. Karl Acinger of Rail Cargo Logistics Austria added that intermodal transport represents the future, expressing a commitment to developing innovative solutions that will benefit the entire Balkan region.
