On 21 April, on the occasion of celebrating a traditional Japanese custom of cherry-blossom viewing – Hanami, representatives of the JBAS-Japanese Business Alliance in Serbia organized an extraordinary gathering in the Sakura Park in New Belgrade.

“In addition to bringing together the businesses of Japan and Serbia, JBAS actively promotes Japanese culture in our country, of which national customs and gastronomy are an integral part. We are grateful to H.E. the Ambassador of Japan Takahiko Katsumata and the staff of the Embassy of Japan who supported this extraordinary and authentic experience again this year”, said Oliver Lepori, executive director of the Japanese Business Alliance in Serbia.

After celebrating 140 years of friendship between our two countries, this representation of Japan in the Japanese Sakura Park in New Belgrade has a special significance, because Japanese cherry trees in the form of Olympic circles were planted in April 2021 as a sign of eternal friendship between the two countries, donated to the city of Belgrade by JBAS members, have in a meantime become not only a symbol of friendship between our countries, but also one of the landmarks of our capital because they can be seen when landing at the Belgrade airport.
