The iconic “Politika” building in central Belgrade, located at Trg Politika 1, has been sold to M29, a company owned by Boban Rajić, who is also the owner of Media 026—a co-owner of the “Politika Novine i Magazini” company. The announcement was made on the “Politika” portal.
The 17-story building, which has housed the headquarters of the “Politika” daily newspaper for over half a century, had been owned by NLB Bank Ljubljana since January 2006. NLB Bank acquired the property, then under the name Komercijalna Banka and majority-owned by the Serbian state, in lieu of a €37.1 million debt owed by “Politika” to the bank.
This transaction marks a significant shift in the ownership of one of Belgrade’s most recognizable landmarks, highlighting its enduring importance in the city’s media and business landscape.
