Belgrade is set to launch its first startup factory, Tesla Venture Studio, in January, designed to support and grow new startups while positioning the city as a regional hub for innovation. Marko Čadež, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, announced the news, noting that the studio will serve as a platform for strengthening the local startup ecosystem.
“The creation of Tesla Venture Studio reflects the rapid growth of our startup sector,” Čadež said at the Web Summit in Lisbon, emphasizing the Chamber’s commitment to fostering innovation not only in Serbia but throughout the region.
Highlighting Serbia’s tech potential, Čadež pointed out that Microsoft’s AI Azure was developed in Belgrade, and Novi Sad’s RT-RK produces smart camera technology for brands like Volvo.
Tesla Venture Studio will be led by Antoinia Norman, former director and board member of Virgin Unite Africa. Norman, who has worked with startups around the world, expressed her enthusiasm for Serbia’s vibrant startup culture, describing a unique energy she sees in the country’s entrepreneurial landscape.
