American technology company AMD has opened a new engineering design centre in Serbia, with offices in Belgrade and Niš, strengthening its presence in the Balkan region.
The new design centre will employ highly skilled software engineers—60 in Belgrade and 30 in Niš—focused on developing software technologies optimized for AMD’s leading computing platforms, including the AMD ROCm software suite for AMD Instinct data centre accelerators and AMD Radeon graphics cards.
The centre has been established through a contract with the global technology services company HTEC.
“Software plays a crucial role in unlocking the potential of our leading AMD hardware. Our new design centre will be vital for enabling the design and implementation of future generations of AMD Instinct and Radeon accelerators, helping to make AI solutions more accessible to users worldwide,” said Andrej Zdravković, Vice President and Chief Software Officer at AMD. He added:
“Our investments in Serbia are a testament to the strong engineering talent in the Balkan region, and we are excited to collaborate with HTEC, local universities, and the vibrant ecosystem in Belgrade and Niš as we deepen our presence in the region in the coming years.”
