Miodrag Jelić, CEO Lesaffre

Partnership Relations, Foundations Of Success

After 2015, during which Lesaffre further strengthened and improved cooperation with its partners, 2016 is continuing at the same pace in 2016. The company’s priority is to secure the leading position in the baked goods sector, investing in the development of the baking industry and strengthening partnerships

Lesaffre strives to bring part of global baking industry trends and innovations to our market, because the company values the potential of the domestic baking industry and the fact that, in terms of knowledge and expertise, our bakers do not lag behind their European counterparts.

How satisfied are you with the results achieved in 2015 and what are your plans for this year?

– Lesaffre achieved good results as a company in 2015. The past year was marked by the Louis Lesaffre Coupe, the European Baking Championships, which our country participated in for the first time. Besides doing good business, we also had very significant promotional, media and business meetings, but what we’re most proud of in the year behind us is that we managed to further consolidate and enhance cooperation with our partners.

We will continue at the same tempo in 2016, where our priority remains gaining recognition as a leader in the bakery field, investing in the development of the baking industry and strengthening relations with our partners and associates.

How integral is the use of innovative products and equipment, has a stake in the modern bakery business?

– As in other industries, in the baking industry, it is also necessary to follow trends if you want to be at the top. The ingredients for the preparation of various products have remained the same, but the quality of raw materials is better today. Lesaffre excels in this area, as a world leader in the production of yeast.

The preparation method is also different and has changed over the years thanks to new technologies. Innovation is an integral part of the development of companies and industries, especially if you bear in mind the diversity of industrial and artisan bakery.

It is true that innovative products and modern equipment and technology are more encountered in the bakeries of developed countries, but Lessafre is also determined to bring them to this market.

We invest in the development of the bakery business primarily in the cold chain, which is very important for our product range. That’s why this year we also delighted our best distributors with vans for faster and better transport

What is Lesaffre’s role in developing the baked goods sector in Serbia?

– In addition to the implementation of international trends, the development of new products and the operations of our baker centre that enables the transfer of knowledge and experience, Lesaffre invests in the development of the bakery business primarily by investing in the cold chain, which is very important when it comes to our range of products.

Here I am primarily referring to the strengthening of relations with the best distributors, and as an example of the strengthening of these relations, I will mention that this year, for the second consecutive time, we delighted our best collaborators with delivery vans for faster and better transport, an even greater success this year.

We know how important identifying the needs of partners and associates is in the development of good relations. That is why we intend to continue in this spirit, particularly as our partners have recognised this action as a great form of strengthening cooperation.

Which principles form the basis for strengthening your company’s cooperation with suppliers and partners?

– We at Lesaffre believe that good cooperation with business partners and colleagues is the key to achieving mutual success and that’s why we continuously strive to contribute to its development. Our partners also recognise that and that’s why we have been recognised in Serbia for two decades as a reliable and secure partner, and why we are trusted.
