The Polish Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Mr. Tomasz Niegodzisz, was born in Suwalki, Poland, in 1957. He graduated from the John Paul II Catholic University in Lublin.

He began his diplomatic career in 1993 in Legal Affairs and the Intergovernmental Agreements Sector of the Polish Foreign Ministry. From 1997 to 2000, he was the director of the Polish Institute in Minsk, and, from 2000 to 2004, Polish Ambassador to Senegal, Gambia, Mali, Burkina Faso and Guinea.

From 2004 to 2007, he worked as the head of the Public and Cultural Diplomacy Sector, followed by his appointment as the Polish Ambassador to Lebanon (2007-2013). From 2013 to 2016, he went back working for the Polish Public and Cultural Diplomacy Sector. In his diplomatic career, Mr. Niegodzisz has been especially focusing on promoting Polish culture and history in the world.
