Gustavo Tristá del Todo, New Ambassador of Cuba to Serbia

H.E. Gustavo Tristá del Todo (58) graduated with a degree in journalism from the Faculty of Communication, University of Havana.

His professional experience at the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs began in 1980 when he spent a year at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, former Republic of Yugoslavia, department for the Serbian language. From 1982 to 1986, Mr Todo was engaged at the Europe Division Official within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba.

Between 1986 and 1992 he served as Economic and Commercial Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Yugoslavia, followed by his return to Europe Division Official at the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1992-1999).

Mr Todo was appointed First Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1999, and from 2005 to 2009 he returned to the Europe Division Official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  

In 2009 he was appointed Political Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic

Cuba to the Kingdom of Spain, and from 2014 he served another three years at Europe

Division Official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, before this year being appointed Ambassador of Cuba to Serbia.

Apart from his native Spanish, Ambassador Todo also speaks Serbian, German and English.

He is a married father of two daughters.
