The Italian Chamber of Commerce elected a new President Dr Giorgio Ambrogio Marchegiani (51), Director General of “DDOR Novi Sad”.
He earned M.Sc. degree in economics from the Bocconi University in Milan. In 1988 he studied at the Wirtschaftsuniversitaet in Vienna. He started his professional carrier in 1989 with Swiss Re Germany, Munich. In 1992, he joined the Boston based strategy consultancy Bain & Company, becoming a Partner of the firm and focusing on insurance. From 2007-2010 Mr. Marchegiani worked with the consultancy Oliver Wyman (part of Marsh & McLennan Group) as Director, member of European Insurance Group and Head of Italian Insurance.
In the period 2011-2012 he joined Fondiaria-Sai (now UnipolSai) as Head of Distribution, Retail and Motor Business Unit, in charge of 3,500 agencies and 11,000 sales. From 2012-2014 he was a manager of the insurance company UnipolSai, resulting from the merger of Unipol and Fondiaria – Sai, with the role of CEO of Liguria Assicurazioni (P&C) and Liguria Vita (Life), bringing them back to profitability. In December 2014, he has been appointed CEO of the insurance company DDOR Novi Sad, part of Unipol Group. He speaks Italian, fluent German and English, basic skills in French and Spanish.
